Step 1: Scan in the Headshot of the actor into Adobe PhotoShop and save to your hard drive as a PhotoShop file. This will allow you to design the makeup in layers and to make changes to the design. The Headshot will become the background layer.

Step 2: On a new layer begin your design with the base makeup color using any of the paint tools, such as the airbrush, paintbrush or pencil. Marianne used the airbrush and set the opacity to 74% to allow some of the actor's features to show through.

Step 3: On separate layers create highlights and shadows with the paint tools. Marianne used the airbrush in different sizes and colors along with the smudge tool to create the desired design. Using different layers allowed Marianne to experiment with a variety of  effects.

Step 4: On the top layer Marianne created the costume headdress the actor would be wearing to complete the wolf makeup. Creating designs digitally adds to the flexibility and convenience of a designer. Completed designs can be e-mailed to the production team and changes can be made quickly.

The wolf makeup design, modeled by Steve Bauer, was created digitally by Marianne Wittelsberger of Jokesters® Productions, an Award Winning Entertainment Company originally based in Hollywood, CA, which she owns and operates with her partner, Steve Bauer.

Marianne and Steve have designed custom makeup and costumes for corporate clients such as MCI, Continental Airlines and Pillsbury. They also have been performing together since 1983 and have performed all over the United States, including 8 Command Performances at the White House for Presidents Reagan, Bush and Clinton and numerous performances for the DISNEY Corporation. Their Cable Television Show called "JOKESTERS", which they write, direct and produce, Won "Best Comedy Show" by the CABLE ACE AWARDS.
